1. Scope This clause of Part 1 is applicable except as follows:
1.1 Replacement: This standard applies to cooking ranges, separate stationary ovens and grills, cooking tables, table cookers, hob elements, grills and griddles which form part of cooking ranges, and ovens and grills for building-in, all intended for household use. Self-cleaning ovens, including those of the pyrolytic type, separate ovens for building-in and cooking tables for building- in are within the scope of this standard. The electrical part of appliances supplied with energy other than electric is also within the scope of this standard. This standard does not take into account the special hazards which exist in nurseries and other places where there are young children or aged or infirm persons without supervision; in such cases, additional requirements may be necessary.
